Established in 2004, Specialist Car Valuations is run by John Glynn. With a 30-year career as a professional car valuer, including ten years as a Glass’s Guide Editor, I have valued hundreds of thousands of vehicles for many thousands of clients and subscribers. This is peerless experience. I provide independent expert vehicle valuation reports for classic and modified cars, supercars, race cars, motorhomes, military, commercial and other specialist vehicles of all ages and in all conditions. I also provide vehicle valuations for UK and European tax purposes, including export valuations and valuations of company and personal assets for tax return purposes. My work takes me right across the UK and into Europe. I will go anywhere I am needed. As a member of the UK Register of Expert Witnesses, I create expert witness court valuation reports for divorce and financial settlements, civil and criminal cases, including Legal Aid work around the Proceeds of Crime. Reports comply with Criminal Procedure Rules Part 19, Family Procedure Rules (FPR) Part 25 or Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) Part 35 and the associated practice directions. Recent high profile cases included Horlick v Jhally and Williams v Williams. My motor trade history dates back to 1986, and includes more than three decades of professional valuation experience, hundreds of articles in the UK motoring press, a book on classic Porsches and media appearances including BBC Radio 4.

I spent ten years as Valuations Editor with UK motor trade price bible Glass’s Guide, where I managed and developed several vehicle Guides and a number of groundbreaking digital products, including the first ‘We Buy Any Car’ online car valuation algorithms.

I am the only independent vehicle valuer endorsed by leading UK insurers including Adrian Flux, Footman James, Classicline, Carole Nash, Locktons, NFU, REIS Motorsport Insurance and Performance Direct. I have served banks and insurers as their Expert Witness in court.

I am a member of the UK Register of Expert Witnesses. My valuations are accepted by HMRC and relied upon in civil, family and criminal court cases and in high-value legal proceedings.

My experience spans the full spectrum of the motor trade. I have bought, sold, written about and valued everything from early classic cars to supercars, veteran motorcycles, racing cars, vintage tractors, motorhomes, cherished plates and more.

I have extensive experience in historic motorsport, as a previous co-owner of Amsterdam-based Twinspark Racing, over 18 years with Tuthill Porsche including marketing and car sourcing and long associations with UK classic car restorers and repairers.
