With over thirty years of specialist experience in automotive valuation, including a decade as Valuations Editor at Glass’s Guide, I have assessed hundreds of thousands of vehicles across a career built on precision, independence, and professional integrity.

During my tenure at Glass’s Guide, I edited the authoritative Glass’s Guide to Older Cars & Modern Classics and led the development of the UK’s first online valuation system, subsequently adopted by leading vehicle manufacturers nationwide.

I am regularly appointed as Expert Witness and Single Joint Expert in a wide range of legal proceedings, including high-value divorce settlements, Proceeds of Crime cases, insurance disputes, inheritance matters, and both civil and criminal litigation. My instructions have come from both claimant and defendant parties, and my valuations – spanning sums from a few hundred pounds to several million – are recognised for their accuracy, impartiality, and robustness under scrutiny.

My client base encompasses lenders, insurers, legal professionals, Trading Standards, the Police, car dealers, and private clients, sustained entirely through repeat instruction and professional referral. I am the sole recommended valuer for the top tier of classic car insurers, including Adrian Flux, Footman James, Classicline, Locktons, Peter James, and Carole Nash, as well as the recommended valuer for H&H Auctions and the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club (VJMC), among others.

As a published motoring writer, my work has appeared in Autocar, Top Gear, and MSN. I have contributed to BBC Radio 4, most notably alongside my 1976 Porsche 911 in the tribute to Ferdinand Porsche. My book, The Cult of Porsche, reflects a deeper engagement with the sports car maker.

My industry connections are further grounded in hands-on experience: as a co-owner of Twinspark Racing in the Netherlands and through more than fifteen years working with Tuthill Porsche, I have developed long-standing relationships with leading UK repairers and classic car restorers.

Alongside legal and court-related instructions, I provide insurance and probate valuations through a specialist network of automotive websites, and maintain a personal collection of fifteen classic cars and motorcycles. My work is wide-ranging: no question is beyond my interest.
